And the exact same poll results are made public day in and day out at just about every state legislative and congressional district level. So, while traditional media may not be covering the votes, the information is still out there.
But the results of the latest interactive poll conducted on behalf of the Virginia Indivisible group can be invaluable to election-year political action groups and candidates, as the nonprofit focuses on issues voters are most concerned about.
The poll conducted on Aug. 11 and 12 was just released. It included 10 of the 11 candidates for Congress, eight of the nine candidates for State Senate, four of the six candidates for state House of Delegates, and seven of the seven candidates for seats on the Republican Party of Virginia Central Committee. The candidate who did not have the required number of responses was the Democrat running in the 9th CD.
The poll was conducted in the midst of the current debates over gun control and background checks.
“During the last month of the campaign, the Virginia Indivisible poll helped us highlight the important issues that voters cared about most,” said Amelia Chasse, campaign manager for the Virginia Indivisible group. “But it also showed us how much the candidates are not telling us about their priorities.”
This is the second year Virginia Indivisible has conducted its own statewide poll. It first released the results of the poll in July, shortly after the 2018 midterms.Q:
